Clued was born out of something personal. When I was a kid, my grandfather had a jewelry shop on 47th Street in Manhattan. For him, running that shop was never just about selling jewelry—it was about relationships. He knew his customers by name. He remembered their stories. He was part of their lives.

That spirit of community is what fuels Clued today.

Fast forward a few decades, and technology has completely changed the way independent shop owners run their businesses. I’ve seen firsthand how hard it can be to grow with tools that were never built for you. The software out there? It’s bloated, confusing, and clearly designed for big brands with dev teams—not for independent merchants just trying to run a beautiful shop.
