Seller Spotlight: Megan of AllotropeMoon🌙

In this article
A lifelong maker with a heart full of art, Megan has transformed her love for beautiful, meaningful objects into a growing jewelry brand, AllotropeMoon, that’s as intentional as it is enchanting. We connected with Megan to learn more about the path that led her to being a handmade jewelry designer and what keeps her inspired.
What inspired you to start AllotropeMoon?
I am naturally a creative being. I have expressed myself through art my entire life. I was a hairdresser for most of my adult years and I loved my craft. I put my whole heart and soul into it. I have always been a maker in my down time.
I love to create so when I started to feel intense burn out in the hair industry it was only natural to turn my creative nature to my second love of making pretty things. I finally took some classes and I’m putting my energy into silversmithing. It’s the coolest thing I have ever done and I’m in love with learning and growing. So I had to share it with the world.
What’s your creative process like?
I live to repurpose things any chance I get. Thrifting, estate sales, walking through the woods. Everything is art. I find inspiration in everything around me and when inspiration hits I’ll be in my creative cave for weeks. Check out my instagram I show a lot of my process on there!

‍
Why is running your own business important to you?
Being my own boss is important. Holding myself accountable is important. Being able to share my art and even myself in the way I choose is important. We need more art in the world because art is important.
As a Clued seller, what’s your favorite feature that makes selling easier?
I love that I can link it directly to my instagram. It just makes it so easy as I post my work and show my process that can just click the link in my bio and poof your shopping my creations. It’s just easy and looks so sleek.

What's been your proudest moment so far as a small business owner?‍
One of my proudest moments was when I had my very first silver collection drop. When someone goes out of their way to support you and buy one of your creations, that is showing that they trust your name. Having a person like your art, wear it proudly, and give you their trust makes me feel proud.
What is your #1 tip for jewelers and small business owners who are just starting out?
Keep going. DO NOT GIVE UP. Trust the process. Don’t rush it, and give yourself some grace. It’s not all going to happen in a day.
